Seagull Maritime Security Pass Second Stage Certification
Seagull Maritime Security (SMS) have just passed the second and final stage of the certification process for gaining certification in the International Standards ISO 9001:2008 (Quality Management), ISO 14001:2004 (Environmental Management) and OHSAS 18001:2007 (Occupational Health & Safety Management).
The certification Audits were conducted by Lloyds Register Quality Assurance (LRQA) and the final audit (5 days in total) went extremely well, with the Auditor reporting only three minor non-conformities. This is a fantastic result for ISO-Guidance and it shows the great expertise and vast experience of our Management System authors. They worked diligently in recent months, making sure that Seagull’s Integrated Management System (IMS) wasn’t just compliant, but that it also improved Seagull’s performance and, ultimately, their bottom line.
ISO-Guidance’s CEO, Mike Armstrong, said “This has been a great project for us in which we were continually praised by our Client for under-promising and over-delivering. The Management Systems that we author are based on our years of experience in operating at the front line of Security, combined with our expertise in the various Standards and Management Systems. To have just 3 minor non-conformities at the end of certification for 3 different Standards is outstanding”.
The whole process took approximately 6 months and ISO-Guidance now look forward to continuing the working relationship with SMS, maintaining their Integrated Management System and making sure that it continues to be compliant. Seagull already have ISO 28000:2007 and ISO/PAS 28007:2012 (Security Management of the Supply Chain) and these 3 new additional ISO’s will allow them to broaden their market and increase their client base.
